Ducati has launched a new high-performance collector piece for its line-up, at eye-watering prices

After releasing some teaser images in recent weeks, Ducati has unwrapped its new flagship performance bike, the Superleggera V4 Centenario. The marque bills it as its "most extreme road-legal motorcycle ever".

Basic stats include a claim of 228hp for a semi-wet weight (no fuel) of 173kg. Those numbers change to 247hp and 167kg when you switch the machine to track configuration.

Its distinctive V4 engine displaces 1103cc, while the motorcycle as a whole makes very extensive use of carbon fibre in the frame, suspension, wheels and bodywork. The suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes are ultra high-end gear.

It marks a centenary since the company was founded as a maker of electronics as the Societa Scientifica Radiobevetti Ducati. It was established by Antonio plus his three sons Adriano, Marcello and Bruno. See the history piece we wrote for bikesales, in 2024.

Ducati has launched the new model as two limited editions:
The Centenario (above) of which 500 are made, priced at around €150,000 (Au$250,000, US$170,000, GB£130,000);

Ducati Centenario tricolore

Plus the Centenario Tricolore of which 100 are being produced, priced at around €200,000 (Au$330,000, US$230,000, GB£170,000)

The machines share technical spec, however there are numerous differences in the finish.
