worth? Among our favourite
results out of the giant annual Mecum Las
Vegas auction are these for Honda Flying
Dragons. First is based on a the humble 1973 Honda CB350G, essentially a stock road bike but with the now much-prized psychedelic paint formed through a hyrdro-dip process. This machine, which has never had fuel in the tank – a key factor in its value – went for an astonishing Au$63,000 (US$49,500, GB£32,000, €41,500).
Second
was for a 1972 CL or scrambler version,
which fetched Au$70,800 (US$44,000, GB£36,000,
€37,000). These machines were only offered by Honda USA. You could get them delivered that way, or briefly buy a retrofit set of set of decals. Of course it’s the former group which is worth serious money. While the price we just mentioned might seem outrageous, it’s not a record. That belongs to a CL350 variant in blue, also sold by Mecum back in 2023, which fetched Au$102,000 (US$71,500, GB£52,000, €60,000). *** Subscribe to our
