 Yamaha
                      news – sixties style
Hot new twins and a custom-built four (Guy 'Guido' Allen, May 2025) It's 1967 and Yamaha has
just launched a new set of two-stroke performance
bikes, led by the YR-1 350 twin, promising an
astonishing top speed of 105mph (169kph). This bulletin outlines
the hero 350, plus the YM-2 305 in scrambler and
                  street versions, the YDS-5 250, plus YCS-1 180 – all
                  of them twins.
            Meanwhile the company celebrates
the effort of motocrosser and dealer Shigeo
Nozaki, who scratch-built his own 500cc
inline-four. All this and more in the April 1967 Yamaha News factory newsletter, which you can open here.
