Classic BMW fleet for auction, September 20

BMW R90S

Bonhams auctioned off a collection of around 20 classic BMWs in Switzerland today. Two that caught our eye were the R90S (top) and 1952 R51/3 (below).

BMW R51/3

The R90S had an estimate of $18,000-27,000 (US$13,100-19,700, £10,000-15,000) and sold for Au$24,300 (US$17,800, £13,700). See the period road test at Classic Two Wheels

Meanwhile the R51/3 was estimated at Au$15,000-21,000 (US$11,000-15,300, £8500-12,000) and sold for Au$14,700 (US$10,800, £8300).

There was also a tidy-looking R80G/S on offer (below), which excited some interest. It was estimated at Au$15,000-21,000 (US$11,000-15,300, £8500-12,000) and sold for Au$17,300 (US$12,700, £9800).
