Harley-Davidson Super Glide
Just a few gems from the history file

Okay, it's not to
everyone's taste, but we reckon the 'boat-tail'
Harley-Davidson Superglide of 1971 was a stand-out
exercise for its time.
This was an early Willie
G Davidson effort, mixing XL Sportster and FL tourer
components for a low-slung 'factory custom' effect.
The then heavy-weight 1200 Shovelhead was kick-start
only and sales for what was a radical style are said
to have been glacial.
Just as aside, we had
the chance to interview him a couple of decades later
and he proved to be an artist and a businessman. Must
try to dig out the story...
